Natural Shocks by Lauren Gunderson
Alone in her basement, a woman waits out an approaching tornado. As she engages the audience about her plight, she overflows with quirks, stories, and a final secret that puts the reality of guns in America in your very lap. The play is part confessional, part stand up, and part reckoning. Inspired by Hamlet's "To be or not to be," this tour-de-force play bursts with life. Chimera Ensemble and Theatre Lumina are proud to have joined forces to produce this staged reading as part of an ambitious national campaign of theater activism against gun violence, which took place from April 19-23, 2018 and involved royalty-free readings of Gunderson's new play taking place nationally.
